Pigment File and inclusive beauty shopping experiences
A skin tone matching tool that makes decisions with ease.
Cosmetic color matching tech had long been dependent on proprietary camera devices, operated in-store by sales staff. This is a new way to recommend makeup for a specific skin tone. Pigment File replaces the lengthy human contact, often cited as a pain point, with a mobile-first solution.
The MVP was built with open-source low-code platforms. A viral PR moment and user interviews accelerated data collection for future releases.
The product earned a place in a 12-week business accelerator for entrepreneurs, HQ Labs. During the time, business model canvases were scrutinized and engineering mentors consulted.
